Storm Eunice: Be Prepared, Stay Safe

Storm Eunice is approaching from the south west for Friday (18 February) with a Met Office amber warning in place for extremely strong winds.

Household Waste & Recycling Collections

We plan to operate household waste and recycling collections as normal. Please ensure that your waste and recycling is secure, and take your empty bins in as soon as possible after collection

Coastal Areas & Deal Pier

Deal Pier will be CLOSED as a precaution first thing on Friday morning. We will review the conditions mid-morning.  People are strongly advised to avoid coastal areas until conditions abate.

There is also a risk of tidal surges and coastal flooding.  See the Environment Agency website for flood alerts and warnings.

Parks & Open Spaces

With Storm Eunice expected to bring extremely strong winds there is a risk of falling branches and some uprooted trees.  Please exercise extreme caution and we advise against visiting parks and open spaces until conditions calm down.

The car park and cafe at Kearsney Abbey will be CLOSED first thing tomorrow morning and the situation will be reviewed mid-morning.
