Kent residents targeted by Investment Scams
In separate incidents one resident, after investing in what they thought was a legitimate scheme was told they needed to pay £200 in order for the funds to be released.
Another resident had £100,000 stolen in a Crypto currency scam. Targeted on Facebook, the ‘Crypto Trading Broker’ quickly moved the chat to WhatsApp.
Most crypto-related activities aren’t regulated in the UK. This means that if you invest in crypto, you generally won’t have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if you want to complain.
